The Old Continental

The Continental used to be popular, a food & family traditional Preston community pub. And it had a fabulous beer garden, just right for summer. It's down by Miller and Avenham parks, by the river, and only about five minutes wander from the train station. A skimming stone's throw from Lower Penwortham and just round the corner from the docks. So when we saw it looking like this, run down and broken, we knew something had to be done.

I'm delighted to hear that the Continental is being refurbished and relaunched -and with entertainment - brilliant! There's a real shortage of quality venues in this part of Preston. Best of luck to the new owners -I'll give it my full support (hic!)

Delighted to hear it's being done up. Some suggestions: the food can only get better, but fresh simple tasty vegetarian food will bring me and my kids. Would like to be able to buy the usual alcohol but also fresh juice and health drinks like Purdeys would be great. Not sure I'd use the proposed take away, but as long as Deli food was fresh, I'd be up for that. If you're looking for a compère, Bethany Black splits her time between in Lower Penwortham and Manchester, so could possibly take on the job. You'll find her details on Chortle.com Good luck and see you when it's opened. Fluffty Powers x
